2020 Goya Awards in Malaga: Gastronomy Days at Yubá to Honour the Spanish Cinema Gala

The 2020 Goya Awards have arrived in Malaga! The most important ceremony of the Spanish cinema is held this year in Malaga so, in Yubá, we feel like a premiere and have prepared some gastronomic days specially dedicated to the Spanish cinema that will delight the most enthusiastic cinemagoers. From 23 to 26 January, come to Yubá and delight yourself with some cinema dishes that will be more than worthy of the precious statuette.

Shall we start? Okay then. Aaaaction!

Alejandro Amenábar, Álex de la Iglesia, Luis Buñuel, Antonio Banderas and Pedro Almodóvar, four of the most important directors in Spanish cinema and our most international actor (who is also from Malaga) are the guests of honour on these gastronomic days dedicated to Spanish cinema in our restaurant Yubá in Malaga.

In our homage to The Sea Inside (Mar adentro), we present you a delicious Warm almond cream with mussels, pine nuts and sorrel, which well deserves to be nominated for Best Artistic Direction. Our powerful Roast goat with chipotle corn pays tribute to the magnificent film The Day of the Beast (El día de la bestia) which, in this case, seeks to get the Goya for the best special effects.

Shall we continue with the gala? Then, our sophisticated Roast duck and mango spherification, a tribute to Buñuel’s An Andalusian Dog, is our bet for the Goya for Best Screenplay. To the Malaga-born par excellence, Antonio Banderas, we wish the award for Best Leading Actor with our Creamy Malaga goat cheese on almond cake crumble and chocolate with Zumbral wine. Go get the Goya, Antonio!

Finally, to honour one of our most international directors and its Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, we present you the Gazpacho with Sleepers?… Well, better electric (Electric gazpacho with cecina and red wine reduction), which will undoubtedly win the Goya for Best Editing!

And the Goya goes to… Yuba! If you love cinema and Yuba’s unique gastronomy, come to our restaurant in Málaga between the 23 and 26 of January and celebrate with us these gastronomic days in homage to the fabulous Spanish cinema.
