This time the social inclusion commitment of our Malaga hotel was reflected by the collaboration in an initiative to promote employability to the gipsy community of Malaga. In general, initiatives like this one increase equal development among the members of the community regardless of their origin, gender and age. Malaga Premium Hotel wanted to be part of this Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG) proposal, which is co-financed by the European Social Fund, since the Premium Group firmly believes that it is possible to build a more equal society through education and work.
Do you want to find out more about this initiative in which gipsy youngsters participated by means of our Malaga hotel and the FSG? We’ll tell you everything you need to know about this success story to promote employability.
The FSG is an intercultural organisation devoted to promoting and improving opportunities for this community throughout Spain. For over three decades they have worked for equality in the gipsy community in the workplace, education, healthcare and housing.
In the Accede initiative, with which we have been able to collaborate, FSG proposed a programme with three main axes: theoretical knowledge, carried out by the people of Secretariado Gitano; the enormously needful practical application and the collaboration of public administrations and private entities, managed by Premium Group specialists and establishments.
Two of all the young participants collaborated in the facilities of our Malaga hotel. One of them as a cleaning woman and the other one as kitchen help in our Yubá restaurant. Antonia María and Adam agree on the sense of gratification of working and being able to put into practice everything they have learned during theoretical training. Both felt really at ease with all members of the Premium Group. So much so that Adam decided to continue his stay during a week to keep on learning.
This kind of programmes to promote employability, of which our Malaga hostel was part too, improves the future employment of the young participants thanks to the involvement of all parties. When we collaborate together for a better future, we all win. In Malaga Premium Hotel we feel proud of the great work and involvement of these young people. We are looking forward to collaborating with Fundación Secretariado Gitano in other initiatives so inspiring like these.
