VinomaScope: Malaga Wines, Gastronomy and the Best Spanish Cinema
It is already traditional for locals and visitors to dedicate March and April to the Malaga Film Festival. However, the winemakers from Malaga are going to work hard to make this cultural event also a gastronomic one. An example of this is that next Friday, March 18, 2022, the 2nd Malaga Wines Route will begin. This event adds the pleasure of good wine to the already usual of a good film.
In this edition, almost fifty restaurants in downtown Malaga will serve a selection of the best DO Malaga and Sierras de Malaga wines to pair unique tapas. We don’t know about you, but it sounds like a great plan to us. And remember, all this will take place during the Malaga Film Festival… The more the merrier!
Malaga Wines at Bendito Restaurant
If you are already a regular at Bendito, you will know that every year, on the occasion of the Malaga Film Festival, we prepare menus and special events. Therefore, in 2022 we thought that the most special thing was to participate in VinomaScope with a Malaga wine that oozes Mediterranean flair on all four sides.
The wine from Bodegas Almijara that you can taste at Bendito is the Jarel. A dry and fruity wine, which comes from the town of Cómpeta: straw-ish colour, citrus aromas and floral notes. You will be surprised by its freshness and aromatic potential. Who said white wines only go with fish? The rules are to be broken! Let’s toast to that. Our chef has designed a tapa that matches this wine to perfection. If you don’t believe it, you’ll have to come and check it out.
With your glass of Jarel Malaga wine, we’ll serve you a glass of Crystal bread, a double-baked pork cheek, mustard and sherry stewed onion. As you can see, this time we move away from cinematic themes to give prominence to the local products: traditional flavours. That toasted bread! A few drops of local oil, a crispy Iberian cheek and a sherry stewed onion with all the flavour of Grandma’s kitchen.
Malaga Wines at Bendito Come with Big Surprises
From 18 to 27 March 2022 you can enjoy the VinomaScope at the Bendito restaurant by Premium Group: the perfect pairing of wines and gastronomy. But that is not the end of the surprises that your visit to Bendito can bring.
